Steve Moxon vs Dzabar Askerov in an incredible (rematch) main event with an impressive under card featuring some of the best Victorian kickboxers!
Prestige Gym was proudly represented at the event by our female fighter, Mei Ngo, who fought for the Victorian IKBF Title.
Not letting to fall in the shade of the absolutely amazing fight between two top level fighters Steve and Dzabar, here is a brief outline of how the title fight between Mei Ngo and Kim Baldacchino went and a point of view of the outcome.
Even taking this fight on a fairly short notice (plus the undoubted experience gap between Mei and her opponent Kim as well as her dominant crowd support) it wasn’t much of a problem for Mei to keep pushing her opponent Kim towards the ropes throughout the fight claiming the centre of the ring majority of the time.
After the first opening round which went at a bit slower pace where the girls felt each other out, in the second and third round Mei unleashed absolute barrage of strikes with techniques flashing from every possible angle, not letting her opponent to gain any composure. It was obvious that this has resulted in a decisive domination in both of the 2nd and 3rd round creating unreachable point advantage in favour of Mei. Regardless of the fact that in the last round Kim was a bit busier, it was really hard understanding how a fight, which in a worst case scenario could have been even on score cards, finishes with a split decision in favour of the other team….and, interestingly, the crowd who came to support the opponent in big number.
We really appreciate that while we were still in the ring the other team came up and offered a rematch due to a debatable decision…now, lets not just leave it on words….
This rematch really has to happen!!
Rematch pending…
