Last weekend was pretty busy for Prestige Gym, displaying four of our fighters across disciplines of Boxing and Muay Thai on two different shows.
It was great seeing that everyone who competed during the last weekend showed, for their level, remarkably high level of skills, proudly representing the gym.
Our first appearance was on Friday 7th of November with Chy fighting his way through his Muay Thai Pro debut on Warriors Way 11. Complete control by Chy through the 2nd and 3rd round in the clench as well as on the distance. The decision was a draw according to the judges in charge but regardless of that we are very proud of Chy’s appearance and we look forward to his next challenge!!! Big thanks to the hosts for putting a great show and a well matched fights.
Following, on Sunday the 9th of November, State Amateur Boxing Championships were held at Calabria Club where only two out of our three entered fighters(Mei, Mel and Luke) fought as Luke got scheduled to fight at the next event.
We wish Luke all the best in the upcoming quarter finals in the most competitive and most challenging 69kg open male division!
Our two girls, Mei and Mel as usual didn’t fail to impress with their performance on the day. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen shortage of female fighters in female open 60kg weight division, Mei had to step up to the open 64kg division to meet current Victorian Champion. With just over 60kg at the weighing Mei unfortunately lost the bout on a point decision. Nevertheless, she showed a great deal of courage and determination in a 4 round fight against much heavier and experienced opponent. It was a good fight, great experience and we are very proud of Mei as she showed once again what a true warrior is!
Last but not least, we saw Mel winning her fight, a fiercefull 3 round final bout for the female 54kg Victorian novice Boxing Title.
We are very proud to congratulate Mel on her amazing result and we wish her all the best in the next season!!!
Congratulations and thanks to all of you guys who fought last weekend and represented your gym in the best manner, as you always do!
